'Deconstructing Media', chapter 2 -Mirror on America

In reading this chapter, I was exposed to all the tricks that American popular culture relays through visual representations like commercials, advertisements, television and even comic strips. Talk about your eyes playing tricks on you. Everything in the images from the colors used in them, to the location of it's posting are carefully put together to target us, the unsuspecting public. We are coaxed by these images to make us feel certain emotions, buy something or lure us into believing what we see is "ideal". All that science used for trying to brainwashing us by media could have went to better use, than again seeing as we are the ones fueling with our money, you could see how it must be working.

Yes--"Seeing" is the key--looking beyond the obvious. Critical thinking is, it seems, what you are learning to appreciate in this course...thanks for the thoughts.
